Threshold - entrance to the Woodland Trail

Those of you have visited the wood since we reopened fully at Easter will have passed through our beautiful new chestnut archway, leading from the play area behind The Barn and onto the start of the Woodland Alphabet Trail.

The archway was lovingly built by member artist Simon Page, with the help of willing walkers who collected sticks for him to weave into his creation. We are delighted with the result! The planting on either side of the arch (designed by Mark and Bart of Hortus Collective) consists of native species including climbing roses and honey-suckle, which will eventually climb over the arch to make a spectacular display.
