A Nest for a Yaffle

Working with wood week flew by once again and this year one of the projects taken on by the home team and volunteers was a large woven willow ‘nest’. A hanging seat designed by our resident willow weaver Flo, the seat will hang underneath Yaffle, one of our new cabins.

With the help of Cat, Ginny, Sarah and Esme, the nest was woven and it was wonderful to watch it grow as the days went on. Flo has lived at the woods for over a year now and many willowy objects have emerged since her arrival last spring, the nest is by far the largest woven contribution from Flo and hopefully it will be a perfect fit hanging underneath Yaffle. The perfect size for two adults, or a few smaller people to spend some cosy time in!
