Young Orchardists - morning forest school for home educated children

Autumn is coming and we're starting a new Forest School at Wilderness Wood - this time in the orchard. A morning home ed club from 10.30am-12pm or afternoon after-school sessions from 4-5.30pm.

Orchards are one of the most biodiverse habitats in the UK, an ancient part of our heritage and community gathering spaces; so why shouldn't children be at the heart of them? Over our first 5 sessions we will see in the harvest, learn to prune and plant trees, enjoy fruit over the fire, celebrate Samhain, and see the orchard go to sleep for winter - while having lots and lots of fun! Combining practical orchard skills and community celebration with story, creativity, song, cooking and bush craft we will enjoy all that Forest School has to offer nestled among our beautiful fruit trees.

Sessions run on Tuesdays from 15th Sept (except the 29th Sep) and finish with a family end-of-term celebration picnic on Saturday 24th Oct 12-2pm.

Open to ages 6-11 (yrs2-6), this is a drop-off space for children confident to be with a new group of friends in the outdoors as the months get colder.

Standard : £15 (£90) (reflects the true cost of the session at a reasonable rate)

Pay it Forward : £25 (£150) (pays for your child & pays towards a place for those less financially privileged)

Bursary : £5 (£30) (limited places available but no questions asked just mention in your RSVP email)

If the lower tier is still prohibitive, I can discuss extended payment plans, exchanges and other solutions - just get in touch.

To reserve your spot, book on eequ here or email rozitaleetham@outlook.com.
