Getting here

We are easy to find - you just turn off the A272 in the village of Hadlow Down, East Sussex, TN22 4HJ into the car-park. When you get to Hadlow Down, you will see a brown visitor attraction sign and a beautiful sign hanging on the road side.

Please see the map and keep your eyes peeled as you come into the village as sat nav occasionally sends people to the village hall, or to a completely different Wilderness Wood, 12 miles from here.

The closest train station is Buxted (on the London Bridge to Uckfield line). From there it is a 5 minute drive or, better still, you can:

Walk to the woods along public footpaths through fields and woodland from Buxted. Instructions and a map of the footpaths available here. Please note - the main road between Buxted/Five Ashes and Hadlow Down (the A272) does not have a pavement between the villages and is dangerous to walk along.

The closest bus-stop is a 10 minute drive away at Cooper’s Green, near Uckfield, which is on a regular bus line between Brighton and Tunbridge Wells.

If you are coming from Uckfield, Heathfield or Crowborough and surrounding villages, you can also contact the FlexiBus.
