Learn how to use the traditional techniques, tools and materials of timber framing to make a beautiful timber building - like the ones you see all around Wilderness Wood! Join Dan and Daryl, designer-builders, for a hands-on introduction to the timeless craft of timber framing through the creation of a new timber frame for a cabin at Wilderness Wood, working with timber grown in the woods and milled on-site.

  • identify the appropriate timber and methods for a structure

  • use and look after specialist framing tools

  • cut big mortice-and-tenon joints

  • assemble the frames

Cost: £495 including vegetarian lunches and a meal together on the Thursday night and a talk about the history of timber framing in the UK by John Russell, leading expert. (5% members discount)
