Come and spend four days at Wilderness Wood continuing this wonderful and endangered tradition with Victor, who has been hewing professionally for the last 10 years, notably for the reconstruction of Notre Dame de Paris!
Over the four days you will:
learn how to turn a tree from Wilderness Wood into a beam for a beautiful cabin
gain knowledge of different axes and log dogs
develop your techniques in weilding an axe safely and accurately
learn how to ping lines on curvy surfaces
work up a sweat!
Tools and shin protection provided.
Bring your steel toe caps.
Cost: £495 including vegetarian lunches and a meal together on the Thursday night (5% discount for members)
Extras: camping pitch, £10 per night, shepherd’s hut, £50 per night, Dumbledore or Yaffle cabin, £500 for Tues to Fri.
