At Home in the Woods - A PILOT EVENT for members

Join Gazza to learn how to hack it, with confidence, in the wild places.

If you have ever wondered how to build a base-camp in the woods, or would love to feel genuinely ‘at home’ in the wilder places around you, this is the day and night for you.

Feel more confident about what to put in that daypack, and explore those fundamental outdoor skills that you feel you ‘really ought to know’.

This weekend overnighter takes you further as we rely on bushcraft skills, rather than just the latest kit.

Suitable for beginners and those looking to raise the bar on their bushcraft skills, we will provide just the right level of challenge you are looking for.

This is a pilot event for Gazza to try out what works as an enjoyable and useful over-night bushcraft experience. As part of the Sunday morning debrief, he will be asking for feedback and ideas on structure and content.

Here’s just some examples of what your day will have in store:

  • Learn to light a fire with primitive and modern techniques and keep it alive for 48 hours.

  • Learn to construct modern and primitive shelters for a good nights sleep.

  • Expand your knot tying repertoire and make cordage.

  • Master the safe use of a knife and saw and how to maintain them.

  • Cook your food on the fire and prepare clean water.

  • Plant I.D. and foraging wild food and materials.

  • Crafting round the fire.

This is for adults or adults with their teenager bushcraft course (13+)
£
100 per person.

Group will be no larger than 10 people to ensure you get my fullest attention.
