Saplings, for 3 to 6 year olds and their grown ups, offers engaging opportunities for outdoor play and learning, building connections with nature and making new friends! 

Come and join Kathryn and other families on Thursday mornings between 10.30am and 12.00pm.  

£11 per session (£10 for members)

£9 for a sibling over the age of 2 - under twos are welcome and free of charge.

Autumn term: Thursdays from 11th September to 23rd October

We will be outside for all sessions, so please dress for the weather - groups may be rearranged in the event of a weather warning, and we will let you know on the day if that happens.

Through seasonal exploration, play, songs, stories, games, arts and crafts, campfire cooking, bushcraft skills and more - we will be opening the first chapter in a life long love of the natural world.  Together we will cultivate curiosity, confidence, kindness, resilience and creative thinking. Alongside developing other physical, social and emotional skills to help support our growth from saplings into beautiful trees!

Our time together will be a chance to feel inspired by nature and the fresh discoveries we make in the woods each week throughout the seasons. Creating deeper connections for us with the cycle of the year and each other. Bring yourselves and your little ones along for a chance to relax, play and learn outdoors together. 

A little more about Kathryn...

Initially training as a Montessori teacher in my twenties, I have nearly 30 years experience of working alongside children in the early years and beyond, with a focus on art as well as outdoor learning. My experience also draws on Forest Schools and Home Education, Permaculture, Art in Therapy and Education, The Reggio Emilia Approach, and Coyote Mentoring - having spent a year at the Wilderness Awareness School. My main teachers remain the natural world around us and the many wonderful children I have met and am yet to meet.
